About ROBBING OPIE

Robbing Opie is a four piece jam band which came together a 5 years ago at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut. Its members include lead guitarist/lead vocalist Rob Martineau, bass guitarist/background vocalist Jeff Maleri, drummer/percussionist Jay Uth, and Matt Nemeth on sax, and background vocals. Ideas for the band were initially formed in the fall of 2002, when Rob introduced his original material to Jay and Jeff. With the addition of Matt 8 months later, the group officially became Robbing Opie. The bands diverse musical influences are rooted in blues, jazz, funk, classical, and reggae, lending a unique, improvisational sound to their music, a quality that continues to enhance the solidarity of the band. Robbing Opie has one full length album out entitled "Music Does" as well as countless live recordings. Coming soon is their 2nd album, which should be for available by summer 2007.
